On October 21, under the guidance of, Assoc. Prof., PhD, Svetlana Mironova, the first-year students of the Faculty of Law, Department of Public Law (CSU), visited the Comrat Court of Appeal. This event provided them with a unique opportunity to familiarize themselves with the key aspects of the Moldovan judicial system, learn about the jurisdiction of judicial institutions, and ask questions to specialists and members of the judiciary. The open day began with an introduction to the structure and functions of the Moldovan judicial system. The students were particularly interested in the issue of access to justice. They discussed the importance of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its role in protecting the rights of citizens who require special conditions. The students were able to see firsthand the adaptation of buildings and facilities to ensure accessibility: ramps, special restrooms, and workspaces designed for people with disabilities were demonstrated. Representatives of the Court of Appeal also explained how the judicial information system operates. Students learned about case allocation, the assignment of registration numbers, and other aspects of judicial case management. Court Secretary Elena Jeleva  provided a detailed overview of her work, emphasizing the importance of proper protocol management. The talk by Judge Dmitri Fujenco, who shared his experiences and discussed practical aspects of his work, also sparked interest. The event included interactive tests that helped students reinforce their knowledge. This approach allowed participants to better understand the theory and test themselves in situations close to real-life scenarios. The meeting took place in an open and constructive discussion format. All the topics presented sparked keen interest and active participation among the students, who gained valuable insights and a unique perspective into the workings of the judicial system.
