On September 1, 2026, the Faculty of National Culture of Comrat State University held Dean’s Hour meetings with first- and second-cycle students admitted in the current academic year. The meetings were conducted by the Dean of the Faculty, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Oxana Curteva.
First-year students were introduced to the structure of the faculty, the organization of the educational process, the class schedule and study regime, the system of ongoing and intermediate assessment, the procedures for documenting absences for valid reasons, as well as the ways of interacting with group representatives, tutors, departments, and the Dean’s Office. For first-year students, the beginning of the academic year is primarily connected with adaptation to new learning conditions and the university environment.
A separate part of the meeting was devoted to the new conditions for awarding state scholarships starting from September 1, 2026. First-cycle students enrolled in teacher-training programmes were informed about the increased scholarship amounts and the conditions for receiving them. The specific features of scholarship provision for master’s students were also explained.
During the Dean’s Hour meetings, issues of academic responsibility and academic integrity were discussed, as well as the culture of communication with teaching staff and university employees, the importance of following official information in a timely manner, fulfilling the curriculum requirements, and preventing the accumulation of academic arrears.
Students were also introduced to the opportunities offered by the university beyond the compulsory curriculum, including participation in Erasmus+ and academic mobility programmes, international projects, scientific conferences, student research, competitions, volunteer initiatives, cultural events, and student self-government activities.
With second-cycle students, particular attention was given to the specific features of master’s studies, requirements for independent and research work, academic performance, preparation of scientific papers, and the development of a professional portfolio.
At the end of the meetings, the Dean wished the students a successful academic year, professional growth, initiative, and active participation in university life:
“The university offers many opportunities, but only the student can make full use of them. It is important to start building your professional reputation from the very first year, accumulating knowledge, experience, and achievements, and not being afraid to take initiative.”
The Dean’s Hour meetings became an important platform for open dialogue with students and helped define the main directions of joint work for the 2026–2027 academic year.
