On October 6, 2026 a productive meeting between the Rector of Comrat State University, Serghei Zaharia, Ph.D., Associate Professor and the representatives of the U.S. Embassy – Joanne Kramb, Tamara Tsurkan, and Liliana Talpa – took place, bringing together partners committed to strengthening educational cooperation and creating new opportunities for young people. The meeting focused on current activities and future initiatives.
A special part of the discussion was dedicated to the work of English Language Teaching Assistant Zoya Meydbray-Gonodanova, whose contribution to university life has been highly appreciated. Zoya has been actively organizing the English Club, giving students the opportunity to practice English, improve their communication skills, exchange ideas, and build confidence in using the language. She has also been supporting lecturers during their English-language lessons, contributing to a dynamic and interactive learning environment.
The participants also discussed several exciting initiatives for the future, including:
Access English Language Courses for pupils aged 14–16, to be organized at the University. The two-year program will provide systematic English-language instruction, followed by an examination and the awarding of a certificate upon successful completion.
Congress Club for university students interested in developing and promoting new ideas and initiatives in the Republic of Moldova. The club will provide a space for discussion, creativity, leadership development, and collaboration, with courses planned twice a month.
These initiatives reflect a shared commitment to education, youth development, English-language learning, leadership, and innovation.
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed their sincere gratitude for the fruitful discussion and their commitment to continued cooperation.
