On October 7, 2026, Dr. Esra Akyol Dönmez, newly appointed to the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at Comrat State University with the support of the Education Counsellor’s Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Chișinău, paid a visit to the Rector of the University, Serghei Zaharia.

Serghei Zaharia congratulated Dr. Esra Akyol Dönmez on her appointment and wished her success in her future professional activities.

The meeting focused on promoting the Gagauz language and folk culture internationally, as well as strengthening academic ties with foreign universities.

The parties exchanged views on opportunities to develop international cooperation in education and research, with particular attention to promoting the linguistic and cultural heritage of the Gagauz people.
