On October 1st, 2026, a special lesson dedicated to Teachers’ Day was held at Foreign Languages Department in Comrat State University, bringing students together to express their appreciation and gratitude to teachers for their dedication, knowledge, and contribution to education.
The event was led by a student presenter, who guided participants through a variety of activities designed to celebrate the important role of teachers in students’ academic and personal development. The Dean of the National Culture Faculty, Curteva Oxana, Ph.D., Associate Professor, was also present, showing support for the initiative and joining the celebration.
The programme featured a range of engaging and meaningful activities. Students recited poems dedicated to teachers, shared congratulations in different languages, and presented teachers with specially prepared greeting cards as a symbol of respect and appreciation. These heartfelt gestures created a warm and festive atmosphere throughout the event.
An informative presentation on the history of Teachers’ Day offered participants an opportunity to learn more about the origins and significance of the holiday and the traditions associated with its celebration. Here, we should mention Zoya’s contribution who also added information regarding this holiday in the USA. She noted that they do not have such a day in the USA; there is a day in the year when they express their gratitude towards their teachers. It is not a huge holiday like ours is. Zoya Meydbray-Gonodanova is Fulbright ETA who also organizes English Club at Comrat State University.
One of the highlights of the lesson was a humorous video in which students imitated their teachers, recreating familiar classroom situations and memorable teaching moments. The video brought smiles and laughter to the audience, adding a touch of creativity and good humour to the celebration.
The event provided students with an opportunity to express their gratitude, demonstrate their creativity, and strengthen the relationship between students and teachers. Through poetry, multilingual greetings, thoughtful gifts, and entertaining performances, the participants highlighted the importance of the teaching profession and the lasting influence teachers have on their students’ lives.
The celebration concluded on a positive note, leaving participants with warm memories and a renewed appreciation for the people who inspire, guide, and support them throughout their educational journey.
