On August 25, the village of Gaidar hosted the national carpet festival “Aydar Kilim Festivali 2024,” organized by the Carpet Weaving Center. The event was attended by faculty members from Comrat State University: assoc. prof., PhD Svetlana GHENOVA, assoc. prof., PhD Petr PAȘALÎ, assoc. prof., PhD Nicolai TERZI, and assoc. prof., PhD Şükrü BAŞTÜRK. The festival aims to revive national carpet weaving traditions, promote national culture, attract tourists, and educate the younger generation. The festival is focused on preserving and developing the folk artistic traditions and cultural values of the Gagauz people, familiarizing the festival guests with the culture and traditions of carpet weaving among the peoples residing in the Autonomous Region, and supporting artisans who are reviving the traditions of manual weaving. The administration of Comrat State University thanks the Carpet Weaving Center and the administration of the village of Gaidar for the opportunity to participate in this event and to learn about carpet weaving traditions for educational and research purposes.
