On August 29, 2024, the State University of Comrat hosted a conference marking the Day of the Romanian Language in Moldova. The event was organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute "Mihai Eminescu" in Chișinău, the State Pedagogical University "Ion Creangă" in Chișinău, and the State University of Comrat. The conference featured two lectures by Romanian language professors: Eugenia Bojoga from the "Babeș-Bolyai" University in Cluj-Napoca and assoc. prof. Carmen Dimitriu from the Institute of Romanian Language in Bucharest. The topics of the conference included the place of the Romanian language among world languages and the significance of the Romanian language in the multicultural and multilingual context of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia. The aim of the event was to highlight the importance and grandeur of the Romanian language for the people of the Republic of Moldova and the ATU Gagauzia. The administration of the State University of Comrat thanks the organizers for the opportunity to participate and looks forward to future collaboration in educational and research projects.
