On 7 September 2026, a meeting was held at Comrat State University between S. C. Zaharia, the Rector of Comrat State University, and Ahmet Yılmaz, the author of the book Kardeş Gagauzlar (Gagauz Brothers).
The meeting provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on issues related to the history, culture, and historical heritage of the Gagauz people. Authored by Ahmet Yılmaz, Kardeş Gagauzlar is a scholarly work based on documentary evidence, historical sources, and testimonies. Dr. Galina Mutaf, Head of the Department of Gagauz Philology and History at Comrat State University, contributed to the publication as both coordinator and academic adviser.
As part of the meeting, Ahmet Yılmaz presented a copy of Kardeş Gagauzlar to Comrat State University. The inclusion of this publication in the University's library collection represents a valuable contribution to the study of Gagauz history, language, and culture and provides an important resource for academic staff, students, and researchers working in these fields.
S. C. Zaharia, the Rector of Comrat State University, expressed his sincere gratitude to Ahmet Yılmaz for the valuable gift and emphasized the importance of initiatives of this kind for preserving the historical memory of the Gagauz people, as well as for the study and promotion of their cultural heritage.
