On September 4, 2026, a meeting was held at Comrat State University between the Rector of CSU, Assoc., Prof. PhD Serghei Zaharia, and participants of the international TİKA “Development Ambassadors” (Kalkınma Elçileri Projesi) project.

As part of the project, 8 students from various universities of the Republic of Türkiye arrived in the Republic of Moldova. During their week-long stay, the participants are getting acquainted with the cultural and social diversity of the region and taking part in activities aimed at strengthening cultural ties and developing international cooperation.

One of the main components of the programme is learning about Gagauz and Moldovan culture through culinary traditions. At the Vocational Technical School in Ceadîr-Lunga, the students are preparing traditional dishes of Moldovan, Gagauz and Turkish cuisine together. The meals prepared within the project will be provided to nursing homes in Comrat and Ceadîr-Lunga, as well as to kindergartens in Ceadîr-Lunga.

During the meeting at Comrat State University, the participants discussed the importance of youth initiatives, international cooperation and cultural exchange. The Rector of CSU welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of such international projects in strengthening friendly relations between Moldova and Türkiye, as well as in creating opportunities for communication and cooperation among young people from the two countries.

During their stay in Moldova, the participants are also learning about projects implemented by TİKA and their contribution to the development of various areas of society and the improvement of living conditions for local communities.

The TİKA “Development Ambassadors” project brings together educational, cultural and social initiatives, providing young people with an opportunity not only to discover another country’s culture, but also to take an active part in activities aimed at supporting local communities.
