Today, Dmitri Fyodorovich Gagauz celebrates his 80th birthday. A composer, musicologist, educator, performer and holder of the Republic of Moldova’s Maestru în Artă title, he has devoted many years to developing and preserving Gagauzia’s musical culture.
His creative and teaching work has made a significant contribution to promoting Gagauz musical folklore, training young musicians and developing professional arts in the region. Dmitri Fyodorovich is actively involved in scholarly and educational outreach and regularly takes part in round tables and scientific and practical conferences. His compositions have become part of Gagauzia’s cultural heritage and are included in the teaching repertoire of our university, college and music school.
From 1993 to 1998, he worked at the Department of Culture and Arts, teaching music theory disciplines and laying a solid foundation for the training of future specialists.
