On March 12, 2024, the administration of Comrat State University received representatives of the tourist operator Siebenbürgen Reisen from Sibiu (Romania). The guests shared their plans to open new tourist routes in our country for tourists from Romania and Germany. The rector of Comrat State University Assoc. prof., PhD Serghei ZAHARIA emphasized: "That for our University one of the priorities is the need to initiate and develop cooperation, which opens new perspectives for our students studying and gaining knowledge in the field of tourism and hospitality. We aim to provide our students with extensive opportunities for practical experience and professional development. The cooperation with tourism operators from Romania will allow our students to gain further valuable experience in an international environment, to learn about the best practices of the industry and to broaden their horizons. We are also confident that this partnership will contribute to the development of the tourism industry in our region and strengthen cultural ties between our countries." In April 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between our university and the tourism operator Siebenbürgen Reisen. On July 10, 2024, the first group of tourists (mostly people of "golden age" from Germany) visited Comrat State University. The tourists were interested in ethnic identity, national folklore, culture, authentic ways of life, activities of peoples living compactly in our country (including the Gagauz and Budjak Bulgarians), history of foundation and development of Comrat State University. The main purpose of the visit of the German tourists is to familiarize with the Republic of Moldova-Gagauzia tourist destination. On the same day, the guests from Germany visited Avdarma village and familiarized themselves with its historical sights.
