On September 2, 2024, in a festive atmosphere, students, faculty, and guests of Comrat State University gathered to celebrate Knowledge Day in the Republic of Moldova and the start of the new 2024-2025 academic year. The event was a significant milestone in the life of our university, summarizing the past year and setting goals for the upcoming period. The Rector of Comrat State University, Assoc. Prof., Dr., Serghei ZAHARIA, addressed the students, master's and PhD students, didactical and research faculties, highlighting the importance of Knowledge Day for the entire university family and expressing confidence in the successful implementation of the planned directions for the new 2024-2025 academic year, emphasizing new academic, project, didactic, methodological, and scientific achievements
With welcoming words, the following honorary guests addressed the attendees:
- Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Chair of the Committee on Culture, Education, Research, Youth, and Mass Media, of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Ms. Liliana Onofrei-Nicolaescu;
- Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Yoichiro Yamada;
- Ambassador of Latvia to the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Edgars Bondars;
- Consul of the Republic of Turkey in Comrat, Mr. Adnan Hayal;
- TİKA Coordinator in Chișinău, Mr. Tarik Mete;
- Advisor to the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Dmitri Panin;
- Head of the Comrat Territorial Office of the State Chancellery, representative of the Government of the Republic of Moldova in territorial units, Mr. Ghennadi Cazanji;
- Representative of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, Head of the Higher Education Evaluation Department, Dr. Felicia Banu;
- Mayor of mun. Comrat municipality, Mr. Sergey Anastasov
During the festive event, first-year students were congratulated by the deans of the faculties of Comrat State University, who wished them a successful start to their academic journey and offered support in their pursuit of knowledge. Senior students also spoke from the podium, congratulating the newcomers and offering their help and mentorship in adapting to university life. On the first day of the 2024-2025 academic year, speeches and congratulations were delivered in Gagauz, Romanian, English, Turkish, and Russian, which is particularly important and significant in the multicultural and multilingual environment of our ATU Gagauzia region. Guests, administration, faculty, and students of Comrat State University expressed hope for a successful and productive academic year, full of confidence in achieving new academic heights and professional success.
