
On September 17, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching program, lecturers from Akdeniz University (Turkiye) held an open lecture for students of the Faculty of Economics, specializing in “Hospitality, Tourism, and Leisure,” “Finance and Banking,” “Business and Management,” and “Accounting.”
Prof. Dr. Nedim Yüzbaşıoğlu presented a lecture on “Introduction to Strategic Management.” He outlined the main concepts and stages of strategic management, as well as the tools for developing and implementing strategies. The professor paid special attention to the importance of a strategic approach for sustainable company development and illustrated his points with examples from international practice.
Lecturer Öğr. Gör. Metehan Yaykaşlı also gave a lecture on “Entrepreneurship in Tourism,” focusing in detail on the use of the Business Model Canvas as a modern tool for developing and evaluating entrepreneurial ideas. During the lecture, he highlighted the specifics of tourism entrepreneurship, demonstrated the stages of creating a tourism project, and showed how the Business Model Canvas can be applied to structure and assess a business idea.
Students actively participated and showed great interest. They noted that the practical examples helped them better understand how company strategies operate and how tourism entrepreneurship is developed, and that the opportunity to ask questions and receive clarifications from foreign lecturers made the session particularly informative and motivating for further learning and professional growth.
The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and the department heads expressed their sincere gratitude to the guests for the engaging and practice-oriented lectures, which enriched students’ knowledge and represented an important step in strengthening international cooperation and fostering close ties between universities.
