On November 6, 2025, Comrat State University hosted an event within the initiative “Talks + Film Screenings – Democracy Begins with You!”, organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in the Republic of Moldova with the support of its partners. The event was attended by the Rector of Comrat State University, Assoc., prof. PhD Serghei Zaharia, representatives of the academic staff and student community, as well as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Søren Jensen, the civil activist and member of the Danish organization SAGA Ms. Helena Olsen (working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark), and representatives of the National Youth Council of Moldova (CNTM). During the meeting, a seminar titled “Youth Engagement and Democratic Resilience” was held, where participants discussed the role of youth in the development of democracy, dialogue, and civic engagement. After the seminar, a screening of the documentary “70/30” took place — an inspiring story about how a youth movement influenced Denmark’s environmental policy. The audience also took part in an online discussion with the film’s director, Phie Ambo, exploring ideas of responsibility, sustainability, and civic participation in decision-making. Rector Serghei Zaharia expressed gratitude to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark for its cooperation and highlighted the importance of such initiatives for students, as they promote critical thinking, civic awareness, and European values.
