On September 2, 2026, Comrat State University hosted a meeting between Rector, Assoc., prof. PhD Serghei Zaharia and the new participant of the international Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (Fulbright ETA) program, Zouya Meydbray, who will work at the university as an English Teaching Assistant during the new academic year.
The meeting was also attended by P.D. Nikolaeva, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages.
During the meeting, the main areas of future cooperation, as well as the tasks and opportunities for the American volunteer’s participation in the university’s academic and extracurricular activities, were discussed. According to information from the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, Fulbright ETA participants support English language teachers, organize conversation clubs and thematic events dedicated to U.S. culture, society and history, and contribute to expanding students’ language and cultural knowledge.
Particular attention was paid to integrating the new program participant into the university environment, organizing classes and extracurricular activities, and facilitating cooperation with the teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages.
Participation in the Fulbright ETA program opens new opportunities for the development of international cooperation at Comrat State University, the improvement of students’ language skills, and the expansion of their understanding of U.S. culture and education.
