
On October 20, 2025, Comrat State University hosted a meeting between the Rector of the University, Assoc. Prof., PgD Serghei Zaharia, and representatives of the Turkish diaspora in Germany, including Mr. Göksel Can, Coordinator of the International Council for Trade and Cooperation (ATİK). During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of interaction among representatives of the Turkic world, the strengthening of cultural and educational ties, and the promotion of the Turkish language and traditions among young people. Rector Serghei Zaharia emphasized that Comrat State University serves as an important educational platform uniting students of Turkic origin, and cooperation with Turkish diasporas in Europe contributes to expanding the university’s international relations and academic initiatives. After the official meeting, the representatives of the Turkish diaspora held a conversation with the students of the university. The discussion focused on issues of cultural identity, the role of education in strengthening interethnic relations, and new opportunities for student participation in joint international projects. Mr. Göksel Can expressed gratitude to the university administration for their hospitality and underlined the importance of maintaining close ties between Turkish communities in Europe and Gagauzia, noting that ATİK will continue to support educational and cultural initiatives. The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere and became another step toward strengthening cooperation between Comrat State University and representatives of the Turkic world.
