
On November 28, 2025, Comrat State University completed the renovation project of the Center of Hellenic Language and Culture — a modern educational and cultural space, implemented with the support of the Embassy of the Hellenic Republic in the Republic of Moldova.
The project, carried out from April to November 2025, aims to:
• develop international cooperation and intercultural dialogue;
• promote the Greek language, history, and traditions;
• involve the youth of the ATU Gagauzia region — students, lyceum, and gymnasium pupils — in educational and cultural initiatives;
• strengthen ties between the Gagauz community of our region and the Gagauz population of the city of Orestiada (Hellenic Republic)
As part of the renovation, repair works and modernization of classroom No. 311 in the administrative building of CSU were carried out, including the installation of air conditioning, an interactive whiteboard, blinds, and equipment for interactive lessons.
During the opening, His Excellency Nikolaos Krikos, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Moldova, emphasized the importance of the project for cultural exchange and noted that Greece will continue to support initiatives that strengthen educational ties and preserve historical heritage. He expressed confidence that the renovated Center will become a place where young people can gain a deeper understanding of Greek culture and traditions. Assoc., prof. PhD Serghei Zaharia, Rector of Comrat State University, expressed sincere gratitude to the Embassy of Greece for its support, highlighting that the project is a vivid example of fruitful international partnership. He emphasized that the opening of the renovated Center creates new opportunities for students and strengthens academic links between CSU and Greek educational institutions. The Ambassador of Hellenic Republic to Republic of Moldova and the guests were warmly welcomed at CSU. The atmosphere of mutual respect and productive dialogue highlighted the importance of further cooperation and the implementation of new educational and cultural initiatives. The administration, faculty, and students of CSU express their sincere appreciation to the Embassy of the Hellenic Republic for its support. The project contributes to strengthening international ties, promoting cultural dialogue, advancing the Hellenic language as one of the EU languages, and upgrading the technical base of the university. Comrat State University is confident in the further expansion of partnerships and the implementation of new joint projects.
