On May 28, 2024, teachers, students, and medical workers of Comrat State University took part in the Round Table on the topic: “Actions to support women’s health in the Republic of Moldova.” The event was organized by the Territorial Information Bureau of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova in Comrat. The event was timed to coincide with International Women's Health Day! The meeting was also attended by Deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, employees of the Health Centers of the ATU Gagauzia, representatives of Civil Society Organizations of the ATU Gagauzia. During the important and interesting discussions, the round table participants raised pressing issues that female representatives of our country, of different age levels, face every day regarding:
- the need to take preventive measures to protect against cancer and viral diseases;
- about the importance of timely and targeted appeal of female representatives to professional medical workers of our region in the Health Centers of the ATU Gagauzia, Emergency Medical Services for assistance;
- about the importance of popularizing the measures of the Government of the Republic of Moldova aimed at preventive, therapeutic measures that contribute to the preservation of good health of women in our country
Also, the participants of the Round Table spoke not only about positive directions for improving the situation with the safety of women’s health, but also about what areas of work the Government of the Republic of Moldova and civil society need to carry out in the direction of eliminating unfinished aspects. Parliamentarians of the Republic of Moldova gave examples (as models for comparison with the Republic of Moldova) of the experience of developed countries of the world (including EU countries) in the direction of protecting and maintaining a high level of health of the female part of the population
As a result of the meeting, the results of the discussion were summed up and it was proposed to the Medical Officer of our University to develop and implement an Action Plan of activities aimed at promoting the protection of the health of employees and students of Comrast State University during the upcoming academic year (2024-2025).
