Students, master’s students, doctoral candidates, and the academic staff of the Faculty of Law of Comrat State University (CSU) are invited to participate in the 20th Annual Conference of the European Society of International Law (ESIL), organized by Freie Universität Berlin, which will take place from September 11 to 13, 2025.
The main theme of the conference is "Reconstructing International Law." International law has undergone an unstable period in recent decades, and the time has come to move beyond crisis narratives and adopt a forward-looking approach. The year 2025 provides an ideal context for this endeavor, marking the 80th anniversary of the United Nations—an institutional center of the international legal order. The ESIL 2025 conference will feature twelve thematic streams (agoras), ten of which will focus on specific topics, and two will be open to agora proposals submitted by ESIL interest groups.
Submissions are accepted online via the conference website. The site includes an online tool (https://www.conftool.net/esil2025), which will be used for the selection process and through which all communication between the organizers and applicants will take place.
Key dates:
- Submission of abstracts by January 31, 2025
- Notification of acceptance by March 31, 2025
- ESIL membership deadline: April 30, 2025
- Full paper submission by July 1, 2025
