On October 29, 2024, the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Comrat organized a celebration marking the 101st anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey. The event gathered representatives of the Gagauz leadership and distinguished guests of the region, including representatives of Comrat State University, such as Rector Zaharia S.K., Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Sult G.G., Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations Genova S.I., faculty deans, lecturers, and students from Turkey who teach and study at the Comrat State University.

Key moments of the event included the playing of the national anthems of the Republic of Türkiye, the Republic of Moldova, and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, a congratulatory video message from the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Dear Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and a congratulatory speech by the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Comrat, Dear Adnan Hayal. In his speech, he highlighted the significance of the event, emphasized the importance of friendship between Türkiye and Gagauzia, and thanked Comrat State University for its close cooperation and support. A highlight of the evening was the organized lottery for plane tickets, sponsored by Turkish Airlines.

The event not only underscored the importance of the anniversary for the Republic of Türkiye but also reaffirmed the strong and friendly relations between Türkiye and Gagauzia, strengthened by years of cooperation, respect, and mutual support, which are expressed not only through economic and cultural projects but also through the development of education in Gagauzia, facilitated by close cooperation with Comrat State University.
