Rapidly developing digital technologies cause transformative effects on media and communication processes. This transformation is observed to impact human and societal life in a variety of ways. The Symposium aims to open a discussion on the human, social, political, and cultural reflections of the transformation in the production and consumption processes of media with digitalization. The symposium aims to significantly contribute to studies in the field of communication and media by delving into the nature of this transformation, its effects on the media ecosystem, and the global results it will bring.

The symposium, which has so far been held at Üsküdar University with the participation of academics primarily from Türkiye and Western countries, will be held in Baku this year, which is expected to encourage the participation of researchers from the East, particularly from Turkic Republics. Thus, IFIG will continue to contribute to the development of communication sciences and media studies at the international level as a scientific platform that allows different understandings to meet from the West to the East and to share various perspectives.
