Participation of students and faculty from Comrat State University (CSU) in the "Open Door Day at the NATO Communications Bureau in the Republic of Moldova"

On April 9, 2025, the second edition of the "Open Door Day at the NATO Communications Bureau in the Republic of Moldova" took place, with students and faculty from Comrat State University joining alongside universities from the Republic of Moldova. The participants had the opportunity to learn about the history and values of NATO, which unite 32 member countries of the Alliance, as well as the specifics of NATO’s cooperation with the Republic of Moldova, which has been developing partnership relations with NATO for 31 years, while respecting the country's neutrality. CSU students and faculty actively participated in discussions about NATO's role in strengthening democratic institutions and societal resilience. During the event, they met with government and civil society representatives of the Republic of Moldova and learned about the "Science for Peace and Security" project, in which Moldovan scientists collaborate with colleagues from Italy, Latvia, and Slovakia. Special attention was given to the role of youth in building democratic societies and the importance of scientific research in ensuring the resilience of critical infrastructure in the face of potential natural disasters. As part of the event, CSU participants also visited the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Moldova. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Moldova, Mrs. Maya DOBREVA, shared information on how the country developed after joining the Alliance and why Bulgaria decided to become a member. We express our gratitude to the event organizers and to the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Moldova, Mrs. Maya DOBREVA, for her support and hospitality. Students and faculty from Comrat State University gained valuable information and unique experience, enriching their knowledge about the Alliance and its areas of activity, the NATO member countries, and strengthening students’ understanding of the importance of fostering friendship between peoples.
