Within Comrat State University, the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, established with the aim of teaching Turkish language and literature in a scientific manner, training master’s and doctoral students, and contributing to educational diplomacy between Moldova and Türkiye, continues its activities successfully. In this context, the University Senate, on March 28, 2024, approved the introduction of elective (facultative) Turkish language courses of three hours per week in the Faculties of Economics, Law, National Culture, and Agriculture, starting from the Spring Semester of the 2023–2024 academic year. In line with this decision, the introductory lecture of the courses launched within the scope of the 2025–2026 academic year was held on September 30, 2025, at 14:30 in the Hamdullah Suphi Tanrıöver Classroom. The opening ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. PhDSerghei Zaharia, Rector of Comrat State University; Assoc. Prof. PhD Svetlana Ghenova, Vice-Rector; and Dr. Kudret Safa Gümüş, Coordinator of International Relations and Türkiye at CSU. As part of the event, A1-level preparatory textbooks donated by the Yunus Emre Institute in Ankara were presented to the students by Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serghei Zaharia. This development marks a significant step toward further strengthening Turkology studies at Comrat State University and deepening academic and cultural cooperation between Moldova and Türkiye.
