Launch of the ITU–IEEE "GenAI for Good" 2025 Project Call
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in partnership with IEEE Humanitarian Technologies (IEEE HT), announces the launch of the GenAI for Good project call — a global initiative aimed at supporting the responsible and inclusive development of open-source generative AI (GenAI) to help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The 2025 edition of the initiative will focus on three high-impact global priority areas:
-
Health (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being)
-
Agriculture (SDG 2: Zero Hunger)
-
Climate (SDG 13: Climate Action)
Researchers, academics, students, entrepreneurs, and organizations from around the world (including Comrat State University) are invited to submit innovative GenAI solutions capable of driving meaningful change and delivering tangible, inclusive benefits to communities.
Selected projects must demonstrate both technological excellence and real potential for scaling and application in national and international contexts. Three winning teams — one per theme — will be awarded cash prizes to support the further development and implementation of their solutions in real-world environments.
