
On October 10, 2025, an important scientific and public event took place in the conference hall of Comrat State University — the Round Table “The Culture of Peace and Solidarity in the Gagauz Tradition”, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Honored Scientist of Gagauzia, Doctor of Historical Sciences Petr Pașalı.
The event was organized by the Faculty of National Culture of CSU with the support of the Department of Gagauz Philology and History. The moderator of the Round Table was Assoc. Prof. PhD, Oxana Curteva, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and Dean of the Faculty.
The Round Table brought together representatives of the academic community, professors and researchers from Moldova, Russia, and Türkiye, as well as representatives of authorities, cultural and ethnocultural organizations. Among the invited participants were well-known historians, philologists, philosophers, public figures and diplomats, deans of Comrat State University, heads of departments of the Faculty of National Culture, and students of the 1st and 2nd cycles.
- The event program included:
official opening and welcoming speeches from the university administration; - presentation “Science. Creativity. Life of Pașalı Petru.” (Curteva Oxana);
- plenary reports and scientific presentations focused on preserving cultural heritage, interethnic dialogue, spiritual values, and traditions of solidarity among the Gagauz people;
- open discussions and exchange of opinions in a “free microphone” format;
- summarizing results and adoption of the Round Table Resolution.
Participants paid special attention to the preservation and renewal of traditional values of peace and solidarity in the context of globalization and cultural diversity. The role of education, science, and public institutions in strengthening interethnic trust and harmonious coexistence was discussed.
The Round Table became not only a platform for sharing scientific ideas and cultural meanings but also a heartfelt meeting of like-minded people united by a common goal — to preserve and develop the spiritual heritage of the Gagauz people.
The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to Petr Pașalı for his invaluable contribution to the development of historical science, the promotion of Gagauz culture, and the education of a new generation of researchers. At the end of the event, all participants received certificates.
