On February 4, representatives of three UN agencies — Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), UN Development Programme (UNDP), and UN Women — together with the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator, organized a visit to the southern regions of Moldova, including Gagauzia. During the visit, UN representatives met with the Rector of Comrat State University, Assoc., prof. PhD Serghei Zaharia, discussed opportunities for cooperation, and exchanged valuable ideas on promoting youth and civil society engagement. It is worth noting that the visit brought great benefits and inspiration to our university. Consultative meetings were also held with representatives of civil society, the academic community, and local authorities. The goal of these meetings was to gather regional perspectives, discuss current needs, and shape the vision of key partners on strengthening social cohesion and organizing inclusive dialogues with active participation of youth, women, and diverse social groups. The activities are part of a project developed by UN agencies aimed at strengthening social cohesion and improving mechanisms for citizen participation, including youth, in decision-making and consultative processes.
