
On April 24, 2026, a preliminary online meeting was held to discuss the prospects for cooperation between Comrat State University and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (Çanakkale, Republic of Türkiye). The negotiations were attended by the Rector of Comrat State University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serghei Zaharia, and the Rector of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Prof. Dr. Ramazan Cüneyt Erenoğlu. The meeting was also attended by the Education Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Chisinau, Ferhat Yılmaz, as well as the Head of the Department of International Relations and Coordinator for Cooperation with Türkiye at CSU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kudret Safa Gümüş.
During the meeting, an official introduction of the university leadership took place, within which the parties presented their institutions, outlined key areas of activity, and discussed strategic development priorities. Particular attention was paid to establishing long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation. The participants explored opportunities for implementing joint educational and research projects, organizing international conferences, academic exchanges, internships for academic staff and students, as well as developing academic mobility programs.
Emphasizing the importance of establishing partnerships between the universities of the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Türkiye, the parties expressed their interest in deepening cooperation and creating a sustainable platform for further collaboration. It should be noted that this meeting was of an introductory and preparatory nature. The signing of an official cooperation agreement between the universities is planned for the next stage of interaction.
