A meeting with Members of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova was held at Comrat State University

On May 18, 2026, Comrat State University was visited by Members of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Marcela Adam and Ana Calinici. The visit took place as part of activities dedicated to the European integration of the Republic of Moldova and the development of open dialogue with young people.

At the beginning of the visit, the members of parliament met with the Rector of Comrat State University, Doctor and Associate Professor Zaharia S.K., and the university administration. During the meeting, issues related to the internationalization of higher education, the development of international cooperation, academic mobility of students and faculty, as well as prospects for improving the educational process and enhancing the quality of education were discussed. The participants also addressed the university’s development, the expansion of international partnerships, and CSU’s participation in international educational programs and projects.

The central event of the visit was a meeting with students and faculty members, during which the parliamentarians delivered a public lecture on the topic: “The Role of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova in the Process of the Republic of Moldova’s Accession to the European Union.”

During the lecture, the main stages of Moldova’s European integration, the role of Parliament in implementing legislative reforms, and the opportunities opening up for young people in the context of the country’s accession to the European Union were discussed. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions on current social and political issues.

The meeting also addressed the development of higher education in the region, the preservation and promotion of the Gagauz language, the opening of language centers, and the organization of Gagauz language courses. Special attention was given to the importance of learning Romanian as an essential tool for the educational and professional integration of young people.

The dialogue also covered issues related to the accreditation of academic programs, the development of dual education, the employment of CSU graduates, and the expansion of the university’s international cooperation. Participants emphasized the importance of the Erasmus+ program, opportunities for obtaining dual degrees in cooperation with universities in Turkey, and the development of academic mobility for students and faculty.

At the conclusion of the visit, the representatives of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova thanked the Rector of Comrat State University for the warm welcome, open dialogue, and fruitful cooperation.
