On March 18, 2024, Mrs. Doina Gherman, Vice-President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, visited Comrat State University with an Open Lecture "The role of youth in shaping the future of Europe: how the student youth of the Republic of Moldova can influence the processes of European integration and creation of a common European identity?". During the Open Lecture, it was mentioned that in the modern world, young people play the key role in shaping the future of the society. Mrs. Doina Gherman, Vice-President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, noted: "Student youth has not only energy and creative potential, but also the ability to see new horizons and perspectives. Today's open lecture on the role of youth in shaping the future of Europe is not only relevant, but also important for each of us. We live in an era when the European integration processes play a decisive role in the development of the Republic of Moldova. The youth of the Republic of Moldova, being an active participant of this process, has a great potential to influence the formation of a common European identity. Their voice, their ideas and aspirations should be heard and taken into account in the process of making important decisions. Our students are the future leaders who will shape the political, economic and cultural environment of our society. That is why the exchange of opinions and ideas on the topic of European integration and the creation of a common European identity is such an important stage in your education and development". Mrs. Doina German, having the rich experience and knowledge in the field of politics and international relations, shared with the students of Comrat State University her thoughts and vision of the future of the Republic of Moldova in the united family of EU partner countries. Her speech inspired the students and showed that each of us can contribute to creating a better future for Europe. The students had an open discussion and asked questions to the high-ranking guests. Also, during their visit, the Vice-President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Mrs. Doina German and Deputy of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Mr. Oazu Nantoi, met with the administration of the Comrat State University. The Rector of Comrat State University Assoc. Prof., PhD Serghei Zaharia underlined: "We express our gratitude for the support of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova to our University, for organizing and holding such events. Such cooperation between educational institutions and state authorities is very important. Your visit to Comrat State University contributes to the enrichment of the educational process and provides students with a unique opportunity to learn the opinions and positions of influential personalities, which in turn contributes to their education and development". For the part of Mrs. Doina Gherman, Vice-President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, proposed to continue and strengthen the cooperation, including by offering places in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova to the students/master students of Comrat State University for licensing, professional practices.
