
On September 14, 2024, in Chisinau, at the Digital Park Center, under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, the forum "Together we are stronger in the European Research Area!" took place. Representatives of the academic community of the Republic of Moldova, scientists from universities and research institutes of the country, participated in the forum. Comrat State University was represented by Associate Professor, Dr. Angela POLEVAIA, Professor, Dr. Boris SOSNA, and Associate Professor, Dr. Svetlana GHENOVA. Important issues were discussed at the forum, such as: The priorities of the Ministry of Education and Science in the field of research and innovation; Presentation of the Romania-Moldova Complex Bilateral Projects Contest; Higher education, research, development, and innovation. Honorary guests who spoke at the forum included: Dan PERCIUN, Minister of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, Giuseppe PALONE, Program Officer, Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, Ovidiu NĂFTĂNEILĂ, First Counselor of the Romanian Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, Ludmila NISTOR-MIHAIILOVA, Policy Officer, "Horizon Europe" Association, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, European Commission, Liliana NICOLAEȘCU-ONOFREI, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Culture, Education, Research, Youth, Sports, and Media of the Republic of Moldova, Adriana CAZACU, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, Adrian CURAJ, General Director of the Executive Unit for Financing, Aurelia HANGANU, General Director of the National Agency for Research and Development of the Republic of Moldova. A joint projects competition between Romania and the Republic of Moldova was announced at the forum, aimed at strengthening existing research networks and developing new cooperation between research groups on both sides of the Prut. 23 million lei are allocated for joint projects of leading researchers from Romania and Moldova. Romania supports the development of the Republic of Moldova, investing in our common European future and funding up to 750,000 lei for each complex research project that will be jointly implemented by Romanian and Moldovan researchers, for: strengthening research collaborations and networks; exchanging best practices and knowledge transfer at the highest level; integrating Moldovan researchers into international scientific networks of which Romania is already a member; increasing the number of joint applications and the success rate of researchers from Romania and the Republic of Moldova in European programs.
