At Comrat State University, an informational seminar was held on the participation of faculty and students in the programs of the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Moldova

On September 24, 2024, the faculty and students of Comrat State University (CSU) participated in an informational session organized at the American Resource Center of CSU. The session focused on programs for faculty: The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program (https://md.usembassy.gov/the-fulbright-visiting-scholar-program/) and SUSI for Scholars Program (https://md.usembassy.gov/the-study-of-the-u-s-institutes-for-scholars/), as well as programs for students: The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) (https://md.usembassy.gov/global-undergraduate-exchange-program-global-ugrad/) and Ambassador Scholarship Fund for Summer Work and Travel Program. The session was organized by the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, with the support of Comrat State University. The U.S. Embassy in Moldova was represented by Cultural and Educational Attache, Ms. Joanne Kramb, as well as U.S. Embassy representatives: Ms. Tamara Turcan, Ms. Irina Colin, and Ms. Natalia Sedelkova. During the partnership meeting between the Rector of Comrat State University, Doctor, Associate Professor Serghei Zaharia and Ms. Joanne Kramb, the Rector emphasized that participation in international programs such as Fulbright and Global UGRAD opens new horizons for professional and academic development for both students and faculty. He stressed that CSU aims to actively integrate into the international educational community, which is a priority for the university's strategic development. Ms. Joanne Kramb expressed the U.S. Embassy's continued support for such initiatives and the expansion of opportunities for academic exchanges. During the informational session, Doctor, Associate Professor Svetlana Ghenova shared her experience of participating in the Fulbright program, presenting an interesting and inspiring talk on opportunities for faculty and students within international academic exchanges. The faculty and students of CSU received detailed information on the opportunities for participating in academic exchange programs such as Fulbright and Global UGRAD. The speakers explained the application requirements, conditions of participation, and the benefits these programs offer for professional growth and expanding international connections. Participants also had the opportunity to ask questions and receive individual consultations on the application process and preparing the necessary documents.
