On October 11, 2024, the National Conference Știu pentru ce votez! was held at the Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University in the Clasa Viitorului space, organized by the Association of Intellectual Games of the Republic of Moldova. The conference concluded the project aimed at increasing the electoral literacy of young people. The event took place on the eve of the 2024 presidential elections and constitutional referendum in the Republic of Moldova. The goal of the project is to use gamification and praxeology to encourage high school and university students to consciously and informatively participate in elections and referendums. Evghenii Poleacov, the chairman of the Association of Intellectual Games of Moldova, noted: "This project has shown that intellectual games and educational initiatives can significantly increase young people's interest in participating in democratic processes. Young people are not only learning, but they are also realizing their role in the future of the country. It is important that the youth's voice is conscious and informed. Young people must understand that their vote matters." During the event, the final of the Intellectual Games Tournament was held, where 20 of the best teams from across the country competed in knowledge, logical, and critical thinking. The competition brought together university students and high school seniors (11th-12th grade) from across the Republic. The winners of the tournament were awarded trophies, medals, and certificates. Six educational institutions won vouchers worth 450 euros to purchase school equipment. The winners among the higher education institutions were: 1st place – Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM), 2nd place – Technical University of Moldova (UTM), 3rd place – Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University (UPSC), and 4th place – Comrat State University. "Such projects are important for us. We really liked the questions, there was much to think about. And most importantly, we now know for sure that on October 20, 2024, we will go to vote!" remarked the students of Moldovan universities. In addition to the Tournament, a creativity competition was held within the framework of the project. Participants created videos, wrote essays urging their peers to vote, and created artwork on the importance of youth participation in elections and referendums. The winners of the competition were awarded valuable prizes and certificates. The project aims to increase electoral literacy and motivate young people to actively participate in the socio-political life of the country. Thousands of high school and university students from lyceums and universities took part in it. The project not only helped young people improve their knowledge of political processes but also made them feel their role in shaping the future of the Republic of Moldova.
