Аt Comrat State University, a roundtable was held dedicated to International Open Access Week for scientific information

 

On October 23, 2024, a roundtable was organized in the reading room of the university’s scientific library, focusing on the theme, "Information Support for Science and Education: The Role of the EIFL Consortium in Developing Open Access. Electronic Information Resources of the Comrat State University Scientific Library." The roundtable aimed to discuss the role of the EIFL Consortium and the national REM Consortium in providing access to scientific and educational information resources, as well as to promote Open Access initiatives that foster the development of science and education. Participants learned about the prospects for using information resources. The head of the Economics Department, Assoc. Prof., Dr., Svetlana Curaxina, greeted the attendees, emphasizing the importance of access to information resources for scientific research and the educational process. The head of the CSU scientific library, Janna Garceva, announced that starting from January 2024, Comrat State University joined the REM Consortium (Electronic Resources for Moldova), granting access to international licensed full-text databases of scientific information. The list of these databases and active links can be found in the scientific library section on the CSU website. Elena Railean, Doctor of Economics and Chairperson of the REM Consortium, spoke about the initiatives and prospects of the international EIFL Consortium (Electronic Information for Libraries). Natalia Ceradi, Director of the Scientific Library of the Moldovan Economic Academy and Doctor of Communication Sciences, presented a modern perspective on the concept and impact of Open Access. Anna Gudima, Head of the Multimedia Department of the Scientific Library of the Moldovan Economic Academy, shared insights on using the databases accessible through EIFL. Faculty from the Economics and National Culture Departments, students from the Law and Economics Faculties, and staff from the scientific libraries of CSU and MEA participated in the roundtable. The CSU scientific library expresses gratitude to the staff of the Moldovan Economic Academy's scientific library for their participation and engaging presentations. The roundtable served as a valuable platform for experience exchange and discussion of current issues related to access to scientific information and its significance for education and science
