Visit of Representatives of the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Moldova and Keio University (Japan) to Comrat State University

On March 6, 2025, representatives from Japan arrived at Comrat State University for a working visit. Hino Shiki, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Moldova, and Professor Yoko Hirose, Deputy Director of the Keio University Global Research Institute (KGRI) and Faculty Member of the Faculty of Political Science, visited the university. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen educational and scientific ties between Comrat State University and Japanese academic institutions, as well as to discuss potential cooperation in the areas of research and teaching.

Comrat State University Rector, Serghei ZAHARIA, Assoc. Prof., Dr., noted the importance of the visit and expressed confidence that this collaboration would open new perspectives for establishing partnerships and joint initiatives. He also emphasized that the internationalization of CSU’s activities is an important strategic direction that contributes to the development of the university's scientific and educational potential. At the end of the meeting with CSU's Administration, Professor Yoko Hirose briefly presented her research and shared her experience in the fields of global studies and political governance. She discussed opportunities for CSU students and faculty to participate in exchange programs and research projects with Japanese universities, emphasizing the importance of developing international academic connections. Furthermore, a number of specific steps were discussed regarding the implementation of joint projects, including organizing seminars, conferences, and research programs, which could serve as a foundation for long-term partnerships. The importance of such cooperation was also highlighted in terms of mutual knowledge exchange and cultural interaction between Moldova and Japan. This visit holds strategic significance for CSU, as it opens new opportunities for educational and scientific growth, as well as strengthens the university’s international connections.
