
On March 6, 2025, the Embassy of Bulgaria in the Republic of Moldova hosted a reception in Chisinau, Republica Moldova, to celebrate the National Holiday of the Republic of Bulgaria. At the event dedicated to Bulgaria's national holiday, the Ambassador of Bulgaria to the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Maya Dobreva, highlighted important infrastructure and progressive changes in the country as the EU member state. The Ambassador emphasized that this event symbolizes the friendship and cooperation between the two countries and is also an important moment for the Bulgarian community in the Republic of Moldova. Her Excellency Maya Dobreva expressed gratitude for the support provided to the Bulgarian community and for the joint efforts aimed at developing cultural and economic ties. The honorary guest of the event was the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov. Among the many guests were representatives of the Moldovan state leadership, members of the diplomatic corps, as well as representatives of the large Bulgarian community from Taraclia District, Gagauzia, Transnistria, Chisinau, Balti, and many others. The Rector of Comrat State University, Assoc. Prof., Dr., Serghei Zaharia, thanked the Ambassador H.E. Maya Dobreva for the invitation and noted that: "Participation in this prestigious event helps our university deepen international connections, especially with the Bulgarian community, which is actively present in the Republic of Moldova, and promotes the development of cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and science. This, in turn, contributes to the implementation of new joint projects, exchange of experience, and academic programs with universities in Bulgaria. Comrat State University's participation in the ceremonial event provides an opportunity to demonstrate our openness to international cooperation and strengthen our image on both national and international levels." Guests had the opportunity to enjoy a folklore program prepared by the "Patriot" choir from the village of Valya Perzhi (Taraclia District) under the artistic direction of Mr. Tihomir Borisov. The event was organized with the support of the Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community in Moldova and Moldindconbank. The festive event was preceded by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Bulgarian soldiers' memorial "Shipka" in Chisinau.
