The working group of the COMPASS project visited the Institute of Continuing Education (Institut de Formacio Continua) at the University of Barcelona within the framework of the training visit
From 11 to 15 November 2019, the working group of the COMPASS project, in which СSU participates, paid a training visit to The Institute of Continuing Education (Institut de Formacio Continua) at the University of Barcelona. The program of the study visit included familiarization with the basic principles and strategies of adult education in the European education system, as well as the introduction of European standards in adult continuing education programs at the center for continuing education of CSU.
On the first day of work, representatives of Moldovan universities presented the current state of own continuing education centers, as well as prospects for their development. Programs that will be relevant for the labor market in Moldova were discussed. The open discussion discussed technologies for creating flexible programs that would meet the needs of beneficiaries of educational services, steps to be taken towards the development of technological, innovative educational products.
The second day was devoted to the introduction of modern strategies for the development of lifelong education for adults in the European space. Continuing education experts from the University of Barcelona presented the mission, principles, content and strategies of European education. It was noted that adult education is a special strategy in the European education system dictated by time and requires a qualitative approach that combines new educational technologies and a high proportion of applicativeness.
In addition, during this trip, on November 14, representatives of the working group took part in the Symposium of the VINCE project within the framework of the Erasmus +program. The main topic discussed at the forum was access to the labor market and educational services in the European space. VINCE has developed a number of tools to help train lifelong learning professionals to work with migrants.
As part of the cultural program, the participants of the "Compass" project visited the main building of the University of Barcelona, which has a rich history. The University of Barcelona is one of the oldest universities in Catalonia, founded in 1450. Since then, it is considered one of the best public universities in Spain and the world. During its history, the University of Barcelona has become one of the most influential academic and research centers in Europe: the University is the leader in the number and quality of research.
The result of the visit was the definition of strategies for further work of the center for continuing education of СSU in the development of new educational programs for adults.
