On October 28, 2025, the Faculty of Economics of Comrat State University hosted a round table on the topic “Modern Trends in Banking Activities: Directions and Opportunities of ESG,” organized in cooperation with the university’s partner — BC Moldindconbank SA. During the discussions, Ms. Tzvetanka Kroumova, First Vice-Chairperson of the Management Board of BC Moldindconbank SA, spoke about the role and importance of Moldindconbank in the national banking system, new products and opportunities offered to clients, and the bank’s strategy focused on high-quality service. She also emphasized the importance of integrating ESG factors (Environmental, Social, and Governance) into the bank’s decision-making processes, particularly in the area of client lending. Ms. Daniela Bumbac, Sustainability Specialist at the Department for the Implementation of ESG Principles, presented the specific aspects of integrating sustainability and ESG principles into Moldindconbank’s operations. She highlighted how banks can contribute to the sustainable development of society and strengthen responsible practices in the financial sector. Students and professors attending the event showed great interest in the discussed topics, asking questions about sustainable banking products, the inclusion of ESG factors in borrower assessment, corporate governance, and the social and environmental projects implemented by the bank. The event became a valuable platform for dialogue between academia and the banking sector, offering an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences on modern challenges and development prospects of the banking system in the Republic of Moldova.
