On 12 December 2025, a meeting between the leadership of Comrat State University and a delegation of the United Nations took place at CSU. The participants discussed the history of the university’s establishment, its current role in the educational landscape of the region, as well as key directions for development. During the conversation, CSU representatives spoke about how the university was formed, the stages it has gone through since its founding, and the strategic goals it pursues today. Special attention was given to the expansion of academic programs and the strengthening of scientific potential. The discussion also covered graduate employment, cooperation with employers, and improving the quality of professional training. The UN delegation received detailed information about the languages of instruction at CSU, the structure of the faculties, and the opening of new foreign language learning centers. A separate part of the meeting focused on the university’s partnerships with foreign educational and research institutions, the work of language courses, literary initiatives, and master’s programs.
A significant portion of the dialogue concerned the role of CSU in promoting the Gagauz language. University representatives spoke about the state policy of the Republic of Moldova regarding the Gagauz language, the contribution of Gagauz scholars and public figures to its development, and projects aimed at supporting culture, expanding the use of the language, and improving the quality of Gagauz language education. The meeting also addressed sociolinguistic issues in the region, the sustainability of the linguistic environment, and the importance of CSU as a key institution in preserving and promoting the Gagauz language and culture.
