We extend our sincere congratulations on the occasion of the World Day of the Turkic Language Family, celebrated on 15 December, established by the decision of the 43rd UNESCO General Conference, held on 3 November 2025.
The Turkic language, the strongest bearer of our shared millennia-old history, culture, and identity, reflects our richness through the full diversity of its dialects and varieties, including the Gagauz language. Each of these languages, like a distinct color, serves as a strong bridge connecting the Turkic world.
Turkic languages that, like Gagauz, require preservation and support represent invaluable treasures of our cultural diversity. Passing this heritage on to future generations through education, literature, media, and academic research is our shared responsibility. Cultural events, scholarly activities, and international cooperation contribute to the preservation of the Gagauz language and to safeguarding the linguistic diversity of the Turkic world. This special day not only reminds us of the value of our common linguistic heritage but also once again highlights the importance of supporting the languages of smaller communities.
On this meaningful day, we respectfully and warmly greet all members of the Turkic language family and wish for the unity of our language, culture, and brotherhood to grow ever stronger. Happy World Day of the Turkic Language Family!
