During the TeleMatinal program on TVR Moldova, our students spoke about their experience in the multilingual debate competition “Promoting Equity and Solidarity for an Inclusive Society,” organized by the Romanian Language, Culture and Civilization Lectureship at Comrat State University in partnership with Comrat State University on February 20, 2026, on the occasion of the International Day of Justice.
With the support of the jury members — Gina Aurora NECULA, Associate Professor, PhD, Institute of the Romanian Language, Bucharest, Romania; Sergiu CONOVALU, Program Coordinator, OSCE/HCNM; Albert VASILESCU, Minister-Counsellor, Consulate General of Romania in Cahul; Serghei ZAHARIA, Rector of Comrat State University; Oxana CURTEVA, Dean of the Faculty of National Culture, Comrat State University; Ana SACARĂ, Associate Professor, PhD, Comrat State University — the students responded to the challenge of speaking simultaneously in three languages: Romanian, Gagauz and English (occasionally adding some Russian to demonstrate that their linguistic mastery is not limited to only three languages).
We congratulate the organizers and all participating students and encourage such events that demonstrate that the languages we know unite us and help us become high-performing and competitive. The practice of debates prepares young people to act coherently, to investigate and analyze important issues of the contemporary world, and to be critical and constructive in their approaches to a subject.
Our students have clearly proven that language is not only a means of communication, but also a powerful instrument that shapes our understanding of the world.
We wish them continued success in delivering persuasive speeches!
