“Eminescu… Differently” — Students in Dialogue with Writers

On June 11, 2026, Comrat State University hosted the significant cultural and educational event “EMINESCU… ALTFEL – STUDENȚI ÎN DIALOG CU SCRIITORII” (“Eminescu… Differently – Students in Dialogue with Writers”), dedicated to the creative legacy of the great Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu and the relevance of his poetry in the contemporary world.

The event aimed to highlight the modern significance of Eminescu’s works and demonstrate the power of his poetic message to unite generations, cultures, and languages, remaining an essential part of today’s spiritual and cultural landscape.

The event was organized by Associate Professor Dr. Gina Aurora Necula, the Romanian Language, Culture and Civilization Lectureship at Comrat State University of the Romanian Language Institute (Bucharest), Comrat State University, and the “Onisifor Ghibu” Library of Chișinău. The event was moderated by Associate Professor Dr. Gina Aurora Necula and Lecturer Dr. Ana Sacară.

Welcoming remarks were delivered by the Consul General of Romania in Cahul, His Excellency Gabriel Nicola; the Head of the Interethnic Relations Policy Service within the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, Ivan Duminică; the Director of the Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu” in Chișinău, Monica Babuc; the Director of the “Onisifor Ghibu” Library, Vitalie Răileanu; and the Rector of Comrat State University, Associate Professor Dr. Serghei Zaharia.

Particular interest was generated by the speeches of renowned writers Iulian Filip and Gheorghe Budeanu, who shared their reflections on literature, culture, and the significance of Mihai Eminescu’s work for contemporary society.

A special highlight of the event was the artistic program prepared by students of the Faculty of National Culture, who presented literary and musical performances dedicated to the life and work of the poet.

The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to the students whose dedication contributed significantly to the successful preparation and implementation of the event.

As part of the continued development of cultural and educational cooperation, the participants will visit the Romanian Parliament in Bucharest on June 15, 2026, at the invitation of Senator Marius Humelnicu, Chairman of the Committee for Labor, Family and Social Protection of the Romanian Senate.

The event became a vivid example of cultural dialogue, contributing to the strengthening of humanitarian ties, the promotion of literary heritage, and the development of intercultural communication among young people.
