The administration of Comrat State University held partnership negotiations with the Romanian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova

On October 18, 2024, a meeting took place at Comrat State University (CSU) between the CSU administration and the Romanian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Cristian-Leon Țurcanu, where they discussed issues related to further partnerships and cooperation in the fields of education and research. During the negotiations, both parties discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects with Romanian universities aimed at developing educational programs, academic exchanges, and research activities. Assoc. Prof., Dr., Serghei Zaharia Rector of Comrat State University, emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with Romanian universities and research institutions. He noted, "Our goal is to expand opportunities for students and faculty through participation in international programs and projects. We are confident that joint efforts with our Romanian partners will open new horizons in the field of research and educational initiatives, as well as help improve the knowledge and use of the Romanian language among the teaching staff and students at our university." The discussion also focused on the further development and activation of the Romanian Information Center at CSU. This will be an important step in strengthening cultural and academic exchanges between CSU and Romanian partners, as well as creating favorable conditions for learning the Romanian language and culture in the Gagauzia region. In turn, the Romanian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova stressed his readiness to support and develop partnerships with Comrat State University. He stated, "We place great importance on cooperation in the field of education, as it helps strengthen cultural and academic ties between our countries. I am confident that our joint projects will not only contribute to the development of academic potential but also promote the Romanian language among the youth of the region, opening new opportunities for their professional growth." The meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and cooperation, with both sides expressing confidence that the agreements reached will serve as a foundation for new successful initiatives and projects. Comrat State University and the Embassy of Romania in the Republic of Moldova intend to continue their active dialogue and cooperation aimed at achieving common goals in the fields of education and research, as well as creating favorable conditions for productive learning and studying the Romanian language.
