On March 17, 2025, an important meeting was held with students and professors of Comrat State University (CSU), during which the topic of the doctoral dissertation of young researcher Isabelle DeSisto from Princeton University (USA) was discussed: 'Political Violence and Its Memory Today.' The research, which the author has been working on for several years, focuses on the consequences of Stalinist repressions in Eastern Europe, particularly the experience of the Republic of Moldova, with an emphasis on the mass deportations and the famine of 1946-47. During the meeting, participants shared personal family stories and discussed views on historical events. In the lively conversation, questions were raised about how the Gagauz people preserve the memory of their ancestors and how modern society perceives the difficult moments of history. PhD candidate Isabel DeSisto expressed her gratitude to the students, faculty, and administration of our university for the opportunity to discuss such an important topic with colleagues and exchange many valuable insights and information. The internationalization of research directions at CSU is one of the priority areas of development for the university's scientific activities
