On October 29, 2025, the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Comrat organized a ceremonial event marking the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey. The event brought together representatives of the Gagauzia leadership and esteemed guests of the region, including the delegation from Comrat State University (CSU) headed by Rector Assoc. prof., Dr. Serghei  Zaharia, Vice-Rector, faculty deans, students, master’s students, and lecturers, as well as Turkish students studying at CSU.Highlights of the event included the performance of the national anthems of the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Moldova, and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, a greeting from the President of the Republic of Turkey, His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and a congratulatory speech by the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Comrat, Her Excellency Eda Güç. In her address, Ms. Güç emphasized the significance of the occasion, the friendship between Turkey and Gagauzia, and commended Comrat State University for its close cooperation with Turkish universities and their continuous support.One of the memorable moments of the evening was a flight ticket lottery sponsored by Turkish Airlines.The event not only underscored the historical importance of this anniversary for the Republic of Turkey but also reaffirmed the strong and friendly relations between Turkey and Gagauzia, built on years of cooperation, respect, and mutual support — expressed through economic, cultural, and educational collaboration, especially with Comrat State University.The administration of Comrat State University extends its gratitude to the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Comrat, Her Excellency Eda Güç, for the invitation to participate in this significant celebration for Turkey and the entire Turkic world, and expresses confidence in the continued strengthening of friendly and professional cooperation.
