April 24, 2024 was an important moment for the educational sector: Comrat State University (KDU) and American University of Girne (GAU) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. This Memorandum opens the door for deep cooperation and partnership between the two institutions seeking to advance education and science worldwide (within the framework of internationalization policy). An important aspect of this agreement is the plan to open a joint doctoral school between American University of Girne and Comrat State University. This step implies the possibility for future doctoral students to obtain double degrees within the framework of the doctoral degree programs offered by both universities. This approach not only increases access to higher education, but also supports the global desire for international academic integration and knowledge sharing. The Memorandum of Understanding also provides for the development of educational exchanges, joint research projects, and the sharing of experiences and practices between faculties of both universities. This creates a favorable environment for the development of intellectual potential and cultural understanding. KDU Rector Serghei ZAHARIA, Assoc. prof., Ph.D expresses confidence that this collaboration will not only strengthen ties between institutions, but will also lead to the creation of new opportunities for students, teachers and researchers.
