Project "REFLECT" Phase II: Qualitative learning through the "peer-to-peer" system in the Republic of Moldova

Goal: Project "REFLECT Phase II" aims to strengthen the culture of feedback in the educational system of the Republic of Moldova. For this purpose, in close collaboration with five educational institutions in different regions of the Republic of Moldova, tools for reflection and (collegial) feedback are being developed and tested, in the "reconceptualization" of quality education within the pedagogical university education space, linked to the motivational need to achieve high results through practices of professional competence development.

The "REFLECT" project is part of the framework program "Promotion of Active Civic Education" of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and contributes to strengthening local self-governance The "REFLECT" project, Phase II, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in the Republic of Moldova and implemented by the Zurich University of Teacher Education - Department of International Educational Projects, focuses on mutual learning and professional development among teachers, lecturers, school principals, and trainers

 The "REFLECT" project focuses on reflection and professional development through classroom observation based on data and constructive feedback, representing a revision of ways to stimulate and motivate target groups for their own development

The themes of the "REFLECT Phase II" project are oriented towards the student's persona - the future educator, and the need for appropriate professional education. The "REFLECT Phase II" project, lasting four years, involves leading university staff in adopting and implementing effective pedagogical practice within the context of the postmodern curriculum, as part of a university consortium consisting of five higher education institutions in the Republic of Moldova

Partners of the "REFLECT Phase II" project include: Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University (Chișinău), Moldova State University (Chișinău), Alecu Russo State University (Bălți), Bogdan Petriceicu Hașdeu State University (Cahul), Comrat State University (Comrat)

The "REFLECT Phase II" project is implemented with technical and methodological support from the University of Education Zurich (Zurich, Germany)

The project budget (for Comrat State University) is 8250 EUR

The "Designing Green Tourism Concept through Learning" project focuses on bridging the skill and competence gaps between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and the labor market, with a specific emphasis on fostering sustainable tourism in Georgia and Moldova. This initiative aims to raise awareness and enhance the concept of green tourism services, aligning with sustainable tourism practices

Project implementation period 01.01.2024-31.12.2026

Through active collaboration, partner HEIs are committed to contributing to sustainable innovation, competence development in tourism, and capacity building. The project also facilitates the rapid transfer of enhanced competences to the broader society

The primary objectives of the project include:

  • Identifying skills and competence discrepancies between HEIs and the labor market in the twin transition context, focusing on climate change, sustainable tourism development, and the shift toward a digital economy. This will be achieved through knowledge exchange among nine HEI partners from Finland, Austria, Italy, Georgia, and Republic of Moldova, thereby transforming higher education in tourism;
  • Developing innovative training and teaching activities to improve competences in service development for sustainable tourism. This includes fostering a business mindset and enhancing service design thinking, crucial for developing competences in green tourism service development;
  • Establishing Green Tourism Hubs at partner HEIs in Georgia and Moldova. These hubs will disseminate knowledge and best practices about sustainable tourism, innovative learning approaches, service design methods and tools, and business development strategies to the surrounding community and region;

In addition to Comrat State University, the project involves eight other private and public universities (partners), including leading European institutions from Austria, Moldova, Italy, and Finland. The project is coordinated by Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences
