On November 26, 2024, Comrat State University (CSU) held elections for the Representative of Turkish students. The event generated significant interest and marked an important milestone for the Turkish student community. Voting began at 10:00 a.m. and ended at 5:00 p.m.
Applications for participation were accepted from November 18 to November 22, 2024. Following this, from November 23 to November 25, candidates conducted election campaigns, presenting their projects and goals to Turkish students.
Turkish students gathered at the CSU Turkish Student Center to cast their votes. Two candidates participated in the elections. Out of 15 registered voters, 11 cast their votes, demonstrating a high level of interest in the election of representatives. After the vote count, İsmet Özkan was elected as the chairman, and Su Rabia Bilgin as his deputy. In his acceptance speech, İsmet Özkan emphasized his intention to actively defend students' rights and develop significant projects for the student community.
The new leadership plans to organize various social and academic events to improve the lives of Turkish students at the university. The representation also aims to strengthen solidarity among students and serve as a bridge between university administration and the Turkish community.
The elections for the Turkish Students’ Representative at CSU became a vivid example of democratic participation, providing students with an important platform to express their interests.
