The Association of Librarians of the Republic of Moldova, together with the Scientific Library of Comrat State University (CSU), organized a professional seminar titled "Creating Authoritative Bibliographic Data" on November 13, 2024, using the National Library of Latvia as an example. The event was held as part of the project "EU4Dialogue: Expanding Experience Through Education and Culture", implemented over five years by Latvijas Nacionālā bibliotēka / National Library of Latvia, with financial support from the European Union and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The trainers were library experts from the National Library of Latvia: Maira Kreislere, Jogita Sauka, and Dzintra Mukāne. They gave presentations about the National Library of Latvia, detailing the library system of Latvia, the activities of the Bibliography Institute, cataloging, the creation of an authority file, the knowledge organization system, and the National Digital Library. The seminar was attended by library specialists from the National Library of the Republic of Moldova, including V. Vasilică and E. Dmitrik; librarians from the Central Library of Gagauzia named after Draganov; the M. Chakir College Library; the Turkish Library named after K. Atatürk; the Library of the Scientific-Informational Center (SIC) named after M. Marunevich; as well as libraries of lyceums and gymnasiums in Gagauzia. During the seminar, invited librarians raised and discussed professional topics such as the organization of library processes, spaces, book and information collections, improving the informatization and automation of libraries, and participating in international projects. At the end of the event, a tour of the CSU Scientific Library was organized for guests from the National Library of Latvia and the National Library of the Republic of Moldova.
