On December 4, 2024, representatives of the student youth and the faculty of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Comrat State University (CSU) participated in the Scientific and Practical Conference "Strategies for Preventing Gender-Based Violence in the Context of Multiple Crises: Towards Beijing +30" held at the Moldova State University (MSU) (Chisinau) within the framework of the International Campaign "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence."
The conference was organized by the Faculty of Psychology, Educational Sciences, Sociology, and Social Work, and the Faculty of History and Philosophy of MSU in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), CSU, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova, the Gender Equality Platform, and the Gender Center, with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Moldova. The conference opened with speeches from representatives of partner institutions. Prof. Maia Șevciuc, PhD, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the importance of youth involvement: “I think it is great that we have an expanded community today, students from various faculties who are interested in combating violence...” Prof. Valentina Bodrug-Lungu, PhD, President of the Gender Center and moderator of the conference, highlighted the necessity of intersectoral participation and a collaborative approach: “There is no justification for violence, and by discussing these aspects, not only during the campaign but every day, we must work together to prevent and combat this phenomenon...” The scientific forum was conducted in a mixed format (online/offline). Students from the professional training field of “Pedagogical Sciences” – Tatar Lidia and Calpacci Zinaida, group MOM-24; Mutaf Olga and Mihailov Elena, group GR-24 – participated in person, while students from group NDP-21 joined online. Calpacci Zinaida presented research findings on the topic "Socialization of Primary School Students in the Context of Partnership Between Educational Institutions and Families." The facilitator from CSU was Assoc. Prof., PhD Maria Ianioglo. Forum participants and partners emphasized the scope of this phenomenon and the importance of international unity in finding effective solutions to combat violence. A key feature of the forum was the active involvement of youth in the process, and through interactive sessions, participants had the opportunity to ask questions to guest speakers, discuss important aspects, and share their opinions on how their generation can contribute to combating violence.
