On July 18, 2025, Comrat State University (CSU) actively participated in a discussion meeting dedicated to current issues and challenges faced by modern youth. The event was organized by the Legal Clinic in Comrat in partnership with People in Need Moldova, within the framework of the INSPIRED Moldova project, funded by the European Union. During the meeting, the following key topics were addressed:
- psychological characteristics of modern youth;
- youth participation in representative sectors;
- mechanisms for working with youth in ATU Gagauzia;
- current challenges and available opportunities for youth in local communities
A presentation titled “Comrat State University as a Center of Youth Cohesion: Opportunities and Challenges for Modern Youth” was delivered by Assoc. prof., Dr., Svetlana GHENOVA, Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations at CSU. In her speech, Svetlana GHENOVA emphasized that CSU is not only an important educational institution but also a significant platform for socialization, leadership development, and active civic engagement of young people. The following priority directions for student development were outlined:
- development of student self-governance as a tool for youth engagement in decision-making;
- support for youth initiatives through projects, grant programs, and volunteer platforms;
- participation of students in international academic mobility and youth exchange programs;
- creation of an inclusive and supportive environment where every student can fulfill their potential regardless of social status or place of residence;
- strengthening partnerships with civil society organizations to broaden opportunities for students’ personal and professional growth
It was noted that CSU is an active participant in the development and implementation of regional youth policies and promotes dialogue between the university community, local authorities, businesses, and NGOs to build a sustainable support system for youth.
Comrat State University continues to consistently develop partnerships and actively engage in regional initiatives aimed at forming modern and effective youth policies, providing comprehensive support to the student community and encouraging youth participation in social life and decision-making processes.
